Not that I'm planning to do anything to mine until it has many many miles on it (and out of warranty), but:

1) Has anyone on here done it to a 115?

2) Isn't the VW 130ps engine in the 130ps model the same engine with the chip reprogrammed?

I thought the main difference is that the 130 is a common rail engine and therefore has major differences not just a simple reprogram.

The differences in engine power can be achieved by different mapping in the ECU but this is a complex job and will have an effect on both durability and performance!

The PD engine is not common rail.

The engine is a pump engine....hence the name.

In line.

115PS engine was the first VW 1.9 engine to use the pumpe duse technology (individual unit injectors, pressure is built up using lobs on the camshaft hence importance of using correct oil).

130PS engine uses different head and other internals too.

I suspect that the same holds true for the 150PS engine used in the Golf but not (yet) available in the UK on the Shalaxy trio.
